"A portrait of my boys, once a week, every week, in 2014."

Leo: After a long morning walk along the beach, this little guy was tuckered out. Dad's arms were getting tired lugging 15 and a half kilos of toddler, so we swapped Ro out of the wrap and I carried Leo on my back the rest of the way home.

Ronan: This boy loves being outside and exploring nature. Fat little fistfuls of grass, leaves and dandelions.

Only one more 'official' month of Summer left :( I would say that I'm going to miss the sun and heat, but so far Wellington hasn't put much effort into the season and I'm feeling a little ripped off! At least we had beautiful weather when we were in Nelson. One more month for Wellington to get its act together and turn on some nice long stretches of fine, sunny and warm weather!

Leo: Enjoying the view on the "Big Boat", while on our way to Nelson for a wedding over the weekend.
Ronan: Relaxing in the kiddy tent and enjoying this being able to sit-up business!

I'm a little late to the party this week after a computer-free weekend away with Rich and the boys. We enjoyed beautiful weather, great food and time with family for a wedding. It was only a short trip, but we were all glad to be back home this afternoon after such a full-on few days!

"A portrait of my boys, once a week, every week, in 2014."

Leo: It had rained and rained and rained for days, then finally the sun came out so we decided to go for a walk along the riverbank and watch the still over-full river thunder past. "Cool Dude", Leo says when you put his sunglasses on him.

Ronan: Managing the intricacies of a toy with many interesting features, such as: soft bits, bright bits, rubbery bits and crinkly bits!

It's strange...I feel as though more than two weeks of the year should have passed already, it must be the slow days of Summer, sun rising earlier and setting later. I should probably enjoy the feeling while it lasts as I am sure that soon enough the days and weeks will gather momentum, and before I know it we'll be hurtling toward the end of another year!

Leo: Freshly bathed and soon for bed
Ronan: Delighting in the antics of his brother

I've admired Jodi's project from afar for quite a long while, and am jumping on board this year. I'm looking forward to documenting and sharing these weekly portraits with you all; especially once my new camera arrives and I can ditch my 5 year old point-and-shoot!
